Kaiser and Dune: 37 & 38 + Girl Time?

Its update time!  I got started on this last night but couldn't get it finished before going to bed, and now its finally done.

Teila had been to the Equestrian Center selling horses, and on her way out she noticed this lovely boy for sale; so she bought him up and brought him home.  This is Emir, and he is the sire for foals 37 and 38.

Prairie's colt, Kaiser, didn't get much from his father.  He may look a lot like his mother, but I think he is still quite distinctive.

Desi also had a colt, and I think Dune is a much better blend of his parents.  She looks like she is trying so hard to ignore him.  "Mom, mom, mom, mom, mom........"

The two brothers.

Cyrus became a young man, and allowed his mother to comb down his hair for the occasion.

He roughed it back up in time for his graduation ceremony though.  With all the money you people have you would think you could afford a car seat.

Cyrus decided to stay on at the ranch for the time being, to help out with the horses.  He loved being around them, but he didn't feel that he and Emir really clicked.

When it came time to throw a birthday party for Cora they invited Fern, Percy, and Cuddles to attend.  Now, Fern, that's not very nice...

Cora is a very serious little child, and it looks like she will have some severe cheekbones to match.

Even in her make-believe world she rules with an iron fist.

Although she does have a tender side that can be seen from time to time.

Now that she was a young lady her parents saw fit to finally redecorate her room.

There was another guest at Cora's party though; Teila had invited one of Cyrus' old school friends, Lucy.  She and Cyrus seemed to be getting along quite well, and were seen giggling together on more than one occasion.

After enjoying her company at the party, Cyrus invited Lucy over to the house to visit.  Unfortunately for Cyrus, their time hanging out was less pleasant once they started talking about his newest painting he was working on.  It turns out that Lucy can't stand art, which is something unfathomable to Cyrus, considering painting is one of his favorite activities.

There was no way the two of them could see eye to eye on the issue, and Lucy promptly showed herself out.

Needing to blow off some steam, Cyrus headed down to the new fusion lounge that had just opened up at the end of Ednamary Way.  He had heard Flux was supposed to have a stage with live music, and even a bubble bar back in the VIP room.  The bouncer into said VIP room had an interesting choice in headwear, and she took her job quite seriously.

Most of the time anyway.  She wasn't the only slacker though, since the mixologist here was too busy listening to the pianist to actually tend the bar...

While he was there this pretty vampire caught his eye.  He followed her into the bubble room and offered to buy her a drink.

Before he got to really talk to her it was closing time already, and he could do nothing more than watch her leave.

Oh well, it was probably for the best.  He knew his grandfather, Barrington, was a vampire and known to have a temper, and he wasn't sure if it was a common trait among his kind.  He considered what it might be like to be a vampire all the way home, and he almost didn't notice an unfamiliar person sneaking through the training course.

Once he realized what was going on he slipped into the house and called the police.

I'm sure this is the most productive use of your time, Cyrus.

Well, maybe things would have turned out differently if you had actually helped...

Thankfully though, Cyrus was able to alert the authorities long before the thief could snag anything, and she took off after the brawl.  It had been an interesting night, and despite having a lot of things to mull over he was asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.  The following night he headed down to Flux again, hoping for a more eventful night in some ways, and less eventful in others.  He was enjoying the wonderful piano music when a girl that had been lingering near the back of the group moved up and asked him to dance.

The dancing was fun enough, but when he tried to talk to her she just giggled endlessly.  When he excused himself to the bar for a drink he caught her crazed reaction out of the corner of his eye.

Oh great.  It looked like she only wanted to dance with him because he was famous.  Scratch that, his parents were the one's with the most successful breeding facility in town, not him; people lined up for the opportunity to buy their horses.  He was merely famous by association.  Sure he had sold a few paintings, and gotten good prices for them, but he was hardly a recognizable name in the art world, let alone the rest of it.  With a sigh he headed back home.  He was starting to wonder if girls were really worth all the trouble...
