Marriage Time? + More Renovations

Ok, I have an update...however there won't be any foals in it, sorry.  My family has been sweet and let me play for a big chunk of the day for my birthday (and I was playing last night much later than I should have)  so there has been a lot going on in my game and it seems way too much to put into one update.  So I am splitting it into two.  To be fair, most of this did happen while the newest foals were in utero anyway.

I guess saying that a lot has been happening with my simmies is a give-away that Teila did in fact decide to marry Troy, and let her son grow up with his father.  She knew absolutely none of his traits, just that he was rich, a cancer, and attended the Community School for the Gifted.  They had gotten along well though, and he seemed at least partly interested in his son, so she invited him over to see if they had any kind of future together.  After a minute or two of flirting she asked him if he would like to go steady with her, upon which she discovered, sure enough, that he has commitment issues (I wondered after their game at the foosball table).  Regardless, he still happily accepted.  Hoping she would be successful again, she asked him to marry her.

He joyously accepted, and Teila felt confident that it was safe to use her Young Again potion.  He had proven that he already loved her just the way she was; so she pulled out the cork and downed the bottle.

During her pause to drink down her tonic, and then reflect on how good it felt to be young again, Troy wandered across the yard.  He stopped to chat with Fern, but I guess she was less than thrilled with what he had to say.  She then learned he has the grumpy trait, and didn't think too highly of her future brother-in-law.

Teila seemed oblivious to all of this.

Before they could get too far into conversation he had to dash off to work.  Feeling a little disappointed, Teila headed back into the house.  Thankfully, Fern's impression of Troy didn't extend to his son, and she was happy to be an aunt.

Yeah...not your best look, Fern.

Although she enjoyed her nephew, she didn't enjoy his screaming.  Hopefully this moment taught the ladies not to put the swing on "high".

However, having the swing on "low" made for a delightful little tot.  I love these animations!

Little Percy's first birthday was fast approaching, and Teila decided she wanted to be married to Troy before it came.  The next morning she called him over again.  They quickly got to talking about their son.

And agreed on a quiet, private wedding right there outside her front door.

After exchanging their vows Troy quickly brought his stuff over and moved in.  His wealthy father must not have approved of the relationship though, since all he brought with him was a sloppy jalopy, a couple of books, and just over 2,000 simoleons.  He decided that, being a father now, he wanted a more mature look, so he grew out his hair a bit.  He also realized that wearing all white wasn't exactly the best idea for life on a ranch, so he found some more practical clothes as well.

Thankfully, grumpy and commitment issues are the worst of his traits.  He is also charismatic, athletic, and at times absent-minded...

Then it was time to celebrate Percy's birthday!

During the party Teila stopped to sigh happily to herself and admire the ring that wasn't on her finger...

Percy is quite the little cutie.

Although he may have some temper issues...

Fern had an empty lizard tank she wanted to fill up, so she headed out into the wild to see what she could find and brought home this awesome little Ancient Dragon.

With the additions to their household the girls needed to make some changes to their living arrangements.  A small basement was built for Fern, with a spacious bedroom and personal bathroom. Fern loves the outdoors, and a room without windows was hard for her at first, but she filled it up with plenty of greenery and little tank-living friends (she left the birds in the aviary though).

The upstairs was expanded for Teila and Troy, with a master suite off of the party room, and a shared bathroom.

The girls' former room was converted into a nursery for Percy.  I'm not completely happy with it, but it will be getting another renovation soon enough so I can live with it as is.

So yeah, in case it isn't obvious green is my favorite color.  It is also the warmest of the "cool" colors and can invoke feelings of calmness so I really like using it for my interiors.  I promise that not all of my sim houses are green though ;).  Anyway, that's it for this update.  I will try to get the next one up tomorrow, with horses included!
